Storyfix is operated by Awakened Media in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. By using the service, you agree to this policy.

What we collect

• Your email address (when you sign up or sign in).
• Sign-in identifiers from third-party providers (e.g. Google), if you choose to use them.
• Your IP address, browser, device type, and approximate location, collected automatically.
• Your reading activity within the service: which stories you open, choices you make, beats generated, credits spent, and timestamps.
• Stored content needed to deliver the service: your story plans, in-progress reading state, and persistent story notes.
• Engagement and analytics data (page views, taps, conversion events) collected via Cloudflare Zaraz, Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel.

How we use it

• To deliver the service — generate stories, save your place, charge credits, and let you resume across devices.
• To send transactional and account email (sign-in links, welcome messages, important notices).
• To measure how the service performs, debug issues, and decide what to build next.
• To run, measure, and optimise advertising campaigns.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and breach of our terms.

Lawful basis

We process your data on the basis of (a) the contract between you and us when you use the service, (b) our legitimate interest in operating, improving, securing, and growing the service, and (c) your consent where required (for example, marketing cookies).

Third parties

We use third-party providers for hosting, model inference, email delivery, analytics, and advertising. These include (without limitation): Cloudflare, Google (sign-in, model APIs, analytics), Meta (advertising), and our email delivery infrastructure. These providers process your data under their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, analytics, and advertising. By using the service, you consent to these. You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time, but doing so will sign you out and may affect functionality.

Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, and operational requirements. We may retain anonymised analytics data indefinitely. We may delete inactive accounts and any associated data at our sole discretion, without notice.

Your account, your data

You can request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it by emailing [email protected]. We may retain data we are legally required to keep, or that is needed to investigate abuse or to enforce our terms. Generated story content, anonymised logs, and aggregate analytics may be retained.

International users

Storyfix is operated from the United Kingdom and may be used worldwide. By using the service, you consent to your data being transferred to, processed, and stored in the United Kingdom and in countries where our third-party providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for unauthorised access to, loss of, or alteration of your data caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Children

Storyfix is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy at any time, without notice. The current version is the version published on this page. Continued use of the service after any change constitutes acceptance.
